Boxing reigns supreme as professional boxer Tommy Fury defeated YouTube personality Jake Paul by split decision in Saudi Arabia.

Fury was sensible and controlled in his approach, which moved his professional record to 9-0, 4 KOs.

Paul, also known as ‘The Problem Child’ had difficulty landing his famous right hand, with Fury’s hand speed and good footwork proving to be enough in this battle.

After a few rounds, it was evident energy was becoming an issue for both sides.

With holding becoming a frequent sight, referee Hector Afu decided to deduct a point from Paul and Fury in sessions 5 & 6, respectively.

Both were tired by the seventh round, in which Paul continued to try and fight up close, landing nothing significant except for an accidental head clash with formed a cut over Fury’s left eyebrow.

Then at the start of the final round, Jake Paul landed a stiff jab which knocked Fury down. The Englishman rose steadily and finished the round with dignity.

One judge had it scored in favour of the American with a 75-74 scorecard, whilst the other two produced scores of 76-73 for Fury.
